Post-Halloween: Time to Ring Bells?

The night of kids laughing, going door to door to be rewarded for their masks and costumes, have come to end in…well…nothingness. Around me, I saw NO trick-or-treaters. No lights. No pumpkins. I ask you, where has Halloween gone?

I theorize that perhaps Halloween has not changed, but my own viewpoint on it through aging could be the source of the “change”. We all know that we as adults lose the magic children hold close to their hearts. Cups of soda seems like fountains, trees tower like giants, the whole world has this sort of phantasmagoria feel to it. Now, we just sort of rumble on, with day to day travels to work or college, questioning where we are, when our next bill payment is, etc.
We as adults don’t have the magic children do. We were robbed of it, from the horrors that we were all allowed to see. This is no Saw or Nightmare On Elm Street, no sir. I feel much scarier things are on their way. Taxes, gas prices, late checks and expensive medicine…you see what I mean? We used to be scared of the monster under the bed. Now we’re afraid of the monsters that might be inside us all too.

Welcome to the blog, were I ramble without having a truly organized pattern of writing. What can I say? I’m just spilling my mind.

Who out there feels they can’t talk to people about what’s on their mind? Who feels that, no matter how close you are to someone, you still have to hold things back for one reason or another? Maybe a fear of misinterpretation. Fear of rejection or being vexed or vexing them.

Okay, where was I? Oh, yeah, Halloween SUCKING. I just think we don’t see what we used to as kids. Now, there’s nothing because we lack the magic that we had as children. Once magical lawns filled with cool spooky stuff is not just a pumpkin with sharpie faces and a half-eaten scarecrow that your neighbor’s dog spent his day using it as a chew toy.

So what do we do now? We make complaints on blogs in a seemingly horrible way. And by horrible, I just mean completely pointless and with no organization at all.

In short: hold on to your magic. No matter what happens, no matter what you go through, never lose that magic. You’ll lose how beautiful the power of imagination holds. Don’t get insulted if someone calls you childish. Be PROUD.

Oh, and the ringing bells part of the title, that was just about the fact that Christmas has been shoved down our throats since BEFORE Halloween. Ring the bells, buy Christmas stuff BEFORE your pumpkins. Make sense? Nah. But, but, but MARKETING! If it makes a company money, who cares about if it makes sense or not?

Hello from the Doctor Artist!

Well hello, everyone! It is time I formally introduce myself.

My name is the Doctor Artist. Who is that, you ask? Well, I’m an artist. Digital artist, traditional artist, and I dabble in things from video game creation to writing. My story is pretty long, but what you need to know is that I’m here, in this place, right now, and that’s what truly matters.

Now, where was I? Oh yes. “Doctor Artist” is a name I coined up for myself and as a public figure for my artwork. Well, I say, “I” coined it, but really it was one of my best friends and Companions, Victoria. She and I met at SacAnime a few years back, and she saw my artwork. She loved it, and she asked if I could do a piece for her. Specifically, a picture of Naruto. (Chuckles) Ah, how long ago that was…All in all, the piece is still in her possession so I suppose it was well liked. But that’s not the point of mentioning one of my best friends. No, she was the one who came up with my name. And for that, I’m eternally grateful.

A while back, I tried this whole blogging thing. Wasn’t very good at it, that’s for sure. Wasn’t that into it, either. Never knew what to talk about, and I still don’t…heh…but who knows? Maybe starting this up again will work out.

I’ll post on and off when I can, and I’ll share with you bits of my life. Occasionally, it might be in story-format, third-person and all.  Until then, I’m glad to have finally come back to the blogging world, and I hope to meet some great people along the way. Contact me whenever you want, I’m always looking forward to meeting new people.

Until we meet again!
